Thistle-Bashing Day

A good start was made this afternoon, mainly on the high top field slope, with many spear thistles being pulled up, or the bigger ones chopped with scythes. Sue E. with her two friends Dave and Cathy accomplished this, Anne C. and I pulled creeping thistles up where the others had been and elsewhere.

There is of course much more work to be done in all three fields. Visitors should not hesitate to pull thistles up, but wear stout gloves of course. I will spend more time there soon as usual.

Thanks go again to Anne, and to Sue, Dave and Cathy for giving their time, and also to Clive C., daughter Kasumi, and friend Jonathan who attacked thistles near the tree planting Monday evening 27th June.

Update 30th June:

All three with me had another 90 mins. session Thursday evening 30th June, and we all intend to give some more time tomorrow Friday 1st July.    Jimm Y-->
